Memory Box Class

Saturday’s Memory Box Class

It was a fun day with everyone turning a pizza box into a Memory Box with a pull out accordion folded section for notes, words of encouragement, photos etc. The accordion part sits inside the pizza box and we decorated the box and pages using the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper (DSP). These gorgeous little Memory Boxes can be used as a decor item as well as a cute way to preserve cherished memories and special occasions like weddings or new baby arrivals, even engagements.

The front of the Memory Box was decorated using the Stitched Labels Framelits. The large label was cut from Fresh Fig cardstock and I tore the centre out and roughed up the edges. I stuck a piece of the marbled looking DSP on the back of the Fresh Fig label and then layered on the other stitched elements from the same framelits set. The stamped words are from the Follow Your Dreams stamp set on page 54 of the Annual Catalogue.

Accordion Folded Pages

Inside you will find a length of cardstock accordion folded and decorated with DSP. I sourced the idea from Kim Oliver from KO Creations Cards, Kim used Memories & More cards for the ‘pages’ of her accordion piece and that is a lovely option. I chose the Petal Promenade DSP because it has the lovely floral and leaf frames and either left blank or with words stamped inside they are really pretty.

Pockets and Tag

I made a small pocket using another piece of the same DSP and only adhered 3 sides so a tag can be slipped inside. The tag is made using the Botanical Tags Thinlits and Botanical Bliss stamp set featured on page 20 of the Annual Catalogue. I cut the tag from Smokey Slate cardtock and mounted a piece of Wood Textures DSP behind it for strength and a peep through.

Each person who attended had a different purpose for their box and used different stamps to go with their theme. We all completed the structure of the box together and then they cut the DSP and decorated the box to their own tastes.

It was a lot of fun. For information on future classes see my Class Calendar page.
