Wow the months are flying by – here’s the projects created in my October card making classes.

October Class Project 1

I started introducing Christmas into the mix with a card using the Joyous Noel and Merry Christmas To All stamp sets and Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies. I cased this project from Leena Girsa.

How to make it

  • Card base is Thick Whisper White (item 140490)
  • Cherry Cobbler Card Stock Layer 14.4cm x 10.1cm (item 121681)
  • Whisper White Card Stock Layer 14cm x 9.5cm (item 106549)
  • Gold Foil (item 132622) cut using scallop circle from Layering Circles Framelits (item 141705)
  • Circle of Under The Mistletoe DSP (item 146921) cut using a circle from the Layering Circles Framelits as above
  • Cut the Merry from Cherry Cobbler card stock using the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies (item 147912)
  • Draw a light circle using the DSP circle you have cut on the whisper White layer so you can place your stamps
  • Stamp the Joyous Noel stamps using the pencil circle as your guide. I used the following ink colours, Shaded Spruce (item 147088), Old Olive (item 147090) Cherry Cobbler (item 147083) and Soft Suede (item 147115)
  • Stamp Very and Wishes on some thin strips of Whisper White using Old Olive ink

Finishing Touches

  • I punched 3 sprigs using the Sprig Punch (item 148012) and Gold Glimmer Paper (item 146958)
  • I cut one of the sprigs in half and positioned them on top of the stamped images
  • The focal circle is adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals (item 104430)
  • The words Very and Merry are adhered using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (item 144108)
  • I used the Shaded Spruce Ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack (item 146329) I tied a bow and used a Mini Glue Dot (item 103683) to adhere it to the card

October Class Project 2

Our second Christmas Card was made using the super cute Sprig Punch. This has been my go-to punch this year, it’s so easy to punch out some greenery and add in some glitter ones to create an easy but eye catching card. This one was cased from Sally Shaw in the UK.

October Class Project 3

Another project this month was this Navy tiled background card with the Country Home Stamp Set. I just love this stamp set and have been using it a lot. This card was cased from Julie Pitta from Washington.

October Class Projects

How to make it

  • Card base is Night of Navy (item 106577)
  • Grey Granite Card Stock Layer 14.2cm x 9.9cm (item 147008)
  • Whisper White Card Stock layer 13.8cm x 9.5cm (item 106549)
  • The tile stamp from Country Home stamp set (item 147678) using Night of Navy Ink (item 147110) was stamped from left to right in rows. I started with the stamp off the page so it didn’t matter too much if they weren’t all straight.
  • An oval was cut using the Layering Ovals Thinlits Dies (item 141706) from Whisper White Card Stock
  • The tin can was heat embossed in Silver (item 109131) on Smokey Slate Card Stock (item 131291) and cut out by hand
  • The flowers were stamped on a scrap of Whisper White using Memento Ink (item 132708) and coloured using Stampin’ Blends Old Olive (item 144597) and Crumb Cake (item 144601) this was then cut out by hand
  • I used the Light Crumb Cake Blend to colour the bottom section of the oval where the can would sit to anchor it

Finishing Touches

  • I adhered the can first using Stampin’ Dimensionals (item 104430)
  • The word Hello was also embossed in Silver and cut by hand. This was adhered with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional (item 144108)
  • The flowers were then positioned at the top of the can and adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item 110755)
  • The oval was adhered to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • A small bow was made from Linen Thread (item 104199) and adhered using a Mini Glue Dot (item 103683)
  • The cotton flowers were given some sparkle using the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (item 141897)

October Class Projects

I love the way the tiles aren’t straight, I think it adds to the rather rustic charm of the card. This card was a challenge for the group but they all managed and were pleased with how it turned out.

I hope you enjoyed this post, please feel free to leave a comment, I’d love to hear what you think.
