I had a fun weekend with my monthly craft class on Saturday where I taught a great embossing technique. Then Sunday was spent creating samples for Extravaganza later this month.
I found a gorgeous card I wanted to case from Jennifer Frost, one of the Stampin’ Up!® Artisan designers. But she hadn’t explained how she did the embossing in her post. A little Googling and I had the answer!
Wow, It’s been 2 weeks since the launch party and it’s been full on. On the day 4 lovely ladies joined me and had a great time, first they enjoyed looking at the samples I’d made using supplies all from the new Annual Catalogue. Do you know I took no photos on the day! I know, how bad is that! Therefore you will have to imagine a table filled with samples, sorry.
Next I had a challenge in the form of a catalogue scavenger hunt. I had a series of questions and the guests had to answer them using the new catalogue. It was an open book game but it did require a bit of concentration so I served coffee and a yummy chocolate brownie at this stage 🙂 Everyone handed in their sheets and we quickly went through the answers. They all scored really well but were each tripped up by a question or 2 so I put everyone in the draw to win the stamp set. The Suite Sayings stamp set was won by Heather, congratulations!
Launch Party Projects
Time for craft, I had 2 cards for everyone to make using new product and some of the new In-Colours. We used the Love & Affection Stamp set, Floral Affection Textured Embossing Folder and the Layering Love Stamp set also the gorgeous new Ruched Ribbon in Flirty Flamingo.

I’m wild about you!
And helping you to create your own handmade masterpiece. When I give a handmade card it carries with it the thought and love that went into making it, my friends and relatives have drawers full as they can’t bear to throw them out!
I know all the reasons why you’re not making cards and I’ve been there, I just know that once you’re here, you’ll love it just as much as me! Why not come along and give it a try?
Wild about flowers too
I’m just starting a new love, flowers. There are so many lovely handmade cards on Pinterest using flowers that I am falling in love with them. I’ve never been that ‘flowery’ and haven’t invested in these type of stamp images or framelits but that’s about to change. So any of you flower lovers that have found them sadly missing from my repertoire can relax, the flowers are coming!
I have used a few in the past, remember Sweet 16 and Choose Happiness but I feel a real flower fetish coming on! You may have seen flower card images all over Pinterest well there are more to come as the new Stampin’ Up!® annual catalogue goes live on 1 June. Flowers can be colourful, playful and fun like the card below or somber, moody and subdued like in a background. Flowers are found in the background of many of the vintage images I love so I’m going to bring them out into the light, out in front and celebrate them.
My Handmade Masterpiece
The card below is made using Wild about Flowers which is available now so if you just can’t wait to get started then visit my online shop.
Autumn is here in Auckland, there is a nip in the air morning and night and the days are getting shorter. Although I’m sad to see summer leaving it’s also a good time to think about some different colour combinations to match the season. Both monthly classes are finished now for April so here’s a wrap of the projects we made.
