New Year, New Classes

Hi everyone,

Is it just me or are the years speeding up? The summer seemed to go on for ever when I was growing up, now we’re speeding towards the end of January already! Some lucky people are still away on holiday but I’m saving mine for later in the year.

Anyway as it’s the start of the year it’s also Sale-a-Bration time at Stampin’ Up!® This is such an amazing promotion, for every $110 you spend (excl shipping) you can choose a free product from a special catalogue that’s only available until 31 March 2015. I will give you the catalogue when you attend a class so don’t worry, you won’t miss out on this amazing offer. If you can’t get to class and would like a catalogue please just send me an email.

I have just booked a lovely room with amazing natural light at Onehunga Community House for classes. The first class will be on Thursday February 5th at 7pm. Please visit my Class and Event Calendar page for all the class descriptions and prices. I have designed classes up until May and will add more as we go. Make sure you know when the classes are on by subscribing to my newsletter on the right of this page.

These classes are in addition to the monthly class that I host at my home in Onehunga so if you can’t make one then you have another option.

Speaking of classes, the first one for 2015 at my place was last weekend. It was a small group as so many of you are away but we had a great afternoon together. Another change this year is that I will give you more details about projects that I post here. Rather than just a pretty picture I will give you details so you know the colours, stamps and accessories used and you can recreate the same project at home. So here we go …

Birthday Balloon Card

I love the simplicity and soft colour combination of this birthday card made using a new set of stamps and framelits sold as a bundle in the Occasions Catalogue.

  • The base card is 14.8 x 10.5cm Pistachio Pudding folded in half
  • The Whisper White layer measures 14.1 cm x 9.9cm.
  • The Pistachio Pudding balloon was stamped on a small piece of Whisper White in Pistachio Pudding with the Pear Pizzazz dots added afterwards
  • The Balloon was cut using the framelit and the Big Shot, then it was attached using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • The Soft Sky balloons have the cute bunting stamped in Coastal Cabana
  • The tails of the balloons are stamped in Soft Sky
  • Happy was stamped in Coastal Cabana and Birthday was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black

See below for the full list of supplies and you can click them to be taken to my store to order.

Don’t forget you earn a FREE SaleABration product of your choice with every $110 you purchase from the main catalogue and/or the occasions catalogue !  I’d love to be your demonstrator!

All is Calm

It’s been a hectic few weeks here with lots happening with classes, markets and also work keeping me busy. Anyway hopefully things will settle down now just in time for the madness of Christmas 🙂

It was class today for my regular group and a small group this month so I got out the Blendabilities! Everyone loved how easy they were to use and the wonderful effect of blending the different shades together.

Here are the projects we made

Projects Confetti Design Class 23 November 2014

Some Christmas along with a birthday card and a thinking of you card, with only 3 people the class finished earlier than usual and everyone was happy to have an extra hour or so in their weekend. The cards were cased as follows, Blended Bloom card Paula Dobson, Traveler card Lisa Curcio, Star Helen at H2Designs, Tag my own design and Gift Card Holder Julie Davidson.

I hope you enjoy these projects. My next class is a Stamp-a-Stack on 7 December. It works like this…we will make 4 different designs of Christmas Cards and we will make 3 of each design. This class will cost $25 and as well as a fun afternoon you go home with 12 handmade Christmas Cards to give to family and friends! Click here to register.

Spring Fever

Wow, it seems that everything starts happening at once, life is livening up with spring around the corner. The Greenwoods Corner Market is starting again next weekend and I’ve just finished The Tea Party Fete today in Grey Lynn. It was a wonderful market with lots of enthusiastic children playing while the parents sipped tea, ate cake and looked around the stalls. At the Greenwoods Market there is a Decorate Your Bike event where there will be tips on safe cycling, prizes and fun while the market is on and the shops are open, so heaps to see and do on Saturday 6th. Remember too that it’s Fathers Day on Sunday 7th so stop by my stall and pick up a card.

Not only markets but the calendar is suddenly full of events and meetings to plan for other coming events. The next craft class at my place in Onehunga is Sunday 21st September starting at 1pm. If you would like to attend please let me know via email by Wednesday 17th September. The card shown here is one that we will be making at this class, it was cased from Paula Dobson. I’m still creating the rest of the projects but they’re sure to be great fun.

I’d love to know if you prefer to know what we’ll be making in class or is it a nice surprise on the day? Please comment so I know which you prefer.

Choose Happiness

I chose happiness yesterday by spending time with my good friend Sarajane. We made this card together, cased from Julie Davidson.

Using the Choose Happiness stamp set we embossed the Pistachio Pudding card stock with Beautifully Baroque embossing folder and used Gold Bakers Twine to make it our own. Then we went for lunch at Gasket in Ellerslie. It was so lovely to spend a few hours out of the busy week just doing the things we love and it’s always better to share with a good friend.

My Crafting Time

I went to a monthly craft group yesterday and had a wonderful time creating some beautiful cards and a cute album (we will make the album in our class this Sunday). You will see some of these also in upcoming classes, here’s a look at some of the creations. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.
