Paperartsie Team Play Date

This time it was a get together with others for a  Paperartsie team play date. We arranged to meet and everyone bought a plate for a shared lunch, 3 of us prepared projects to teach and Barbara had some extra projects for those who had time to stay a bit longer. It was a fabulous afternoon!

Team Projects

These are the 3 projects we all made together as a group. The centre card is a twist and flip (or something like that). It is in 3 parts, one of them makes the inner part flip out when you open the card.

This weekend was a Paperartsie team play date. I love these gatherings, a chance to meet up and craft together. We all learnt something and had a fun afternoon. Continue reading

Stamping Play Date Star of Light Card

Every year Stampin’ Up!® bring out so many gorgeous sets of stamps and it’s impossible to buy and use them all! This bundle is now on my wish list as I had the chance to create this Star of Light Card using it.

I was invited to a demonstrator play date last month with the opportunity to ‘play’ with 4 sets from the holiday catalogue. Wow!! It was so much fun!

We each received a bag containing card stock, designer series paper, ribbon, vellum, gold foil or glimmer paper. There were 4 tables set up with different supplies and we could just have a play and make whatever we liked.

Talk about kids in a lolly shop!! While we created we chatted and had a yummy morning tea as everyone had bought a small plate. We spent a wonderful 2 hours chilling out with craft supplies and friends, I hope they do it again soon.

Star of Light Card

My card was made using the Star of Light stamp set and Starlight Thinlits Dies. It was loosely based on the sample shown on page 9 of the Holiday Catalogue.

Pretty Flowers For You using Jar of Love

I love the simplicity and bright cheery colour of this card with pretty flowers made with my new favourite set Jar of Love. While different to the Jar of Love Shaker Card it remains soft and feminine. This time I used Watermelon Wonder, Old Olive and Soft Sky.  The flowers are created using a 2 step stamping method and the light colour was simply the same Watermelon Wonder ink but stamped off first.

I love the simplicity and bright colours of this card with pretty flowers made with Jar of Love. Give this card to someone who needs cheering up. Continue reading

Jar of Love Shaker Card

Wow, I have found my new favourite stamp set… Jar of Love and it’s so exciting because it also comes in a bundle with the Everyday Jars Framelits! I spotted this set when the catalogue first came out however I just ordered the bundle this month.

It’s not until you have the set in your hands or start to use it that you realise sometimes just how amazing they are, this happened when I discovered there was a framelit to cut out the fish stamp and the little firefly! Wow, no fussy cutting! Plus there are so many cute images to choose from including 3 jar sizes, lovely flowers, the fish, the firefly, leaves, heart and a darling bow.

My card making group had asked me if they could make a shaker card so when I spotted this one from Juan Ambida I knew I’d found the project I wanted to teach. Juan was inspired by the card on page 74 of the Annual Catalogue, where the Jar of Love set is shown, consequently the shaker is filled with confetti hearts.

I love the softness created by the sponged background, the use of vellum and the confetti hearts are just so sweet and feminine.

I love glass jars, so it's no surprise that I fell in love with the Jar of Love stamp set and Everyday Jars framelits. You'll be sure to see it popping up again in future classes.

I love the sweet feminine shaker card cased from Juan Ambida
